The Medical Reserve Corps system is a federal initiative that was launched in July 2002, as part of a larger structure that encourages volunteer participation across the United States.
Freedom Corps
The umbrella organization is called the USA Freedom Corps, which covers four groups: AmeriCorps, Citizen Corps, Senior Corps, and the Peace Corps.
