The Upper Merrimack Valley Medical Reserve Corps joined the National MRC Association (NMRCA) in November 2013. This membership qualifies our unit under 501C3 status as a tax-exempt organization. Corporations and other donors can contribute to our unit in the same way as they do for the Red Cross and other volunteer organizations. This status also allows the use of matching funds.

Here’s how interested parties can donate to the UMV MRC, making their contributions eligible for tax credits:

  1. Write checks payable to the NMRCA (or spell out National Medical Reserve Corps Association).
  2. Indicate ‘For UMV MRC‘ in the Notes section, usually located at the bottom-left of the check. This specifies the funds as 501-C3 contributions for deposit into our account.
  3. Mail these donations to our host agency at the following address:

    Upper Merrimack Valley MRC
    c/o Rae Dick
    UMV MRC Director
    Westford Health Department
    55 Main Street
    Westford, MA 01886

Any funds being contributed this way are allocated to the UMV MRC. Especially in a difficult economy, such donations significantly offset our modest operating expenses, and are greatly appreciated!
