Sign up for the MMS seminar by calling 800-843-6356, do not contact MRC for this event. (Session fills quickly; call soon if interested.) Topic: "Providing Medical Care in an Emergency Shelter Setting." Massachusetts Medical Society Headquarters, 860 Winter Street, Waltham, MA 02451. Up to three con-ed credits for medical volunteers. Open to both medical and non-medical attendees; free for MRC members.

Culturally Appropriate Care, Weds. June 13, 6 to 8 p.m., 2 Olde North Road / Route 4, Chelmsford (near Drum Hill Rotary), Police Department Training Room. Sheila Och and Sonith Peou return to discuss diversity awareness and respecting cultural differences, when providing care to those from diverse backgrounds in a disaster. Two OEMS and two CEU credits requested.

II. DROP-IN DAYS / ORIENTATIONS
These informal gatherings allow existing members to stay current, and new members to learn the basics. The next option is Thursday, June 7, from 4 to 7 pm. The June 5 date is canceled because of a conflict with the MMS event on the same evening. Check back later for additional dates. These events are typically held on a weekday evening from
4 to 7 p.m, in the MRC office at Millennium School, 23 Depot Street, Westford. Members are invited to stop by at their convenience to keep informed about the unit and its activities. (Please allow up to an hour if you are coming for an orientation. Kindly urge anyone who might be interested in the unit to join you!) Review our 12-minute video, basic procedures and documents, and receive your badge and MRC polo shirt.

III. HEALTH FAIRS
All members are eligible to help with staffing our MRC displays. This is a great way for new volunteers to meet their fellow members and interact with the public we serve.

Upcoming UMV MRC Booths at Fairs
Tewksbury
This year's annual Health and Wellness Fair is on Wednesday, May 2 from 3 to 7 p.m. We will be promoting the 'Let's Move!' national initiative to encourage fitness and combat childhood obesity. Volunters are needed to fill either the entire four hours (arriving by 2:30 for set-up), or two-hour shifts from 3 to 5 and 5 to 7. Seeking two medical and two non-medical members to cover the shifts.
Chelmsford
This year's annual Health and Wellness Fair is on Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m to noon. We will be promoting the 'Let's Move!' national initiative to encourage fitness and combat childhood obesity. Volunters are needed to fill either the entire six hours (arriving by 8:30 for set-up), or three-hour shifts from 9 to noon and noon to 3. Seeking as many members as possible (both medical and non-medical) to coordinate numerous activities.
Chelmsford In honor of Independence Day each year, the Town of Chelmsford hosts a Country Fair the evening before, on Tues. July 3. Once again, our unit is invited to staff an information booth and screen visitors for hypertension from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Town Common, where Westford and Academy streets intersect. Members are invited to staff either the entire evening, or shifts from 5 to 7:30 and 7:30 to 10 p.m. This event is a great way to celebrate the holiday while raising awareness of our unit.
